TRIPPS, the answer to the mobility of the future

The Almere-based company Gaiyo (formerly Innovactory) will develop the app TRIPPS, which responds entirely to the trend of “Mobility as a Service” (MaaS). MaaS is making the use of mobility as smart and accessible as possible, whereby the mobility offer is adapted to the needs of the traveler. By signing the investment agreement between Gaiyo and Horizon the Flevoland Regional Development Corporation, the development of TRIPPS is assured and Gaiyo can expand its lead in MaaS.

One app for all your travels

TRIPPS gives travelers in the Netherlands easy access to all kinds of transportation that they can plan, book and pay for using the app. It is a total solution with a wide range of services, where alternatives are offered besides their own car and bicycle, such as (shared) bikes, public transport, (shared) cars and cabs. Each user receives up-to-date and personalized travel advice with a number of smart and affordable alternatives. TRIPPS also offers parking solutions for car and bicycle, including booking and free entrance and exit at affiliated garages.

Lucien Groenhuijzen, CEO of Gaiyo: “We are delighted that Horizon’s funding from the TMI Proof of Concept Fund Flevoland allows us to accelerate our (inter)national scale-up of TRIPPS. It allows us to welcome the first paying TRIPPS users in early 2020.”

Marco Smit, director of Horizon said, “Horizon is extremely proud that we can help an innovative company like Gaiyo with financing to realize their growth ambitions. Innovactory is an asset for Flevoland and an example for other innovative start-ups in the region.”

Gaiyo (Innovactory)

Gaiyo (formerly Innovactory), was founded in 2013 by a team of former TomTom employees with the goal of developing innovative smart mobility applications that make a significant contribution to sustainable travel behavior. With the development of TRIPPS, Innovactory won an important national tender, in which they were able to leave behind several consortia of major parties. As a result, the Almere-based company is among the list of fastest growing companies in the Netherlands.
