Temporarily out of service

P+R Blijdorp

Currently, you cannot park for free at the Blijdorp P+R if you continue your journey using shared transportation. When you try to “claim” the discount in the Gaiyo app, you’ll receive an error message. As a result, the parking charges remain in the app, and you cannot leave the P+R lot for free. We’re working on a solution. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Frequently asked questions

Am I required to use shared transportation?

No, that’s not necessary. You can choose how you want to continue your journey from the P+R parking lot. You can take the metro, tram, train, or car-sharing service, depending on what’s most convenient for you.

Is parking at a P+R lot really free?

Yes, parking at the participating P+R lots in Rotterdam is free, provided you book your trip to and from the city using the Gaiyo app. The maximum parking duration varies by location and is usually 24 or 72 hours. In the Gaiyo app, you can see exactly which conditions apply at each location.

Can I also use this solution for my commute?

Yes, this is a smart solution, especially for commuting. You avoid traffic and high parking costs in the city center and can continue on to your workplace efficiently.

How do I know which P+R lot to choose?

In the Gaiyo app, you can see which P+R parking lots are available and the best way to continue your journey from there. This allows you to choose the most logical route in advance.

Do I need to use multiple apps for my trip?

No, with Gaiyo, you can plan your entire trip in a single app. From parking to choosing public transportation or ride-sharing, everything is clearly organized and available in one place.

Can I also use public transportation instead of ride-sharing?

Yes. You can also continue your journey by public transportation from the P+R lot. This can be convenient, for example, if carpooling isn’t available, or if you simply prefer to travel by public transportation. You can use the Gaiyo app to see which transportation options are currently available.

What should I do if my P+R transaction wasn't processed correctly?

Although most P+R promotions are processed automatically and correctly, in rare cases you may still have been charged a parking fee even though you used a valid Gaiyo P+R promotion.

Have you paid parking fees that you believe were charged incorrectly? If so, you can file a claim using our claim form. Our support staff will then review your case to determine whether you are eligible for a refund.

In order to review your application, we ask that you provide the following information:

  • Your name and the email address associated with your Gaiyo account
  • The license plate number of the vehicle you parked
  • The date and time of the parking campaign
  • The P+R location where you parked
  • A photo of the parking ticket
  • Proof of payment, such as a receipt, invoice, or screenshot of your bank transaction

Please make sure that the photos and documents you submit are clearly legible. Incomplete applications may not be processed.

Once we receive your claim, we will review it. If the claim is approved, the amount paid will be refunded to the wallet of the specified Gaiyo account.
